The Stanford University laboratory project consists of a 60,000 sq. ft. tenant improvement and shell-and-core upgrade developed to relocate clinical laboratory operations from the main Stanford Medical Center to an off-site facility at Hillview. The project was designed to support advanced laboratory functions while improving operational efficiency, flexibility, and long-term expandability for Stanford’s growing healthcare and research programs.
The facility incorporates sophisticated robotic laboratory equipment and automated vertical storage systems to streamline workflow, optimize space utilization, and support high-volume clinical testing operations. Significant upgrades to the building infrastructure were implemented to meet the stringent environmental and operational requirements of modern laboratory facilities.
Mechanical systems were completely modernized to provide a 100% outside air supply system, supporting superior indoor air quality, pressurization control, and infection prevention standards. The upgraded central plant infrastructure includes new water chillers, cooling towers, heating water boilers, air handling units, and exhaust fans designed to deliver reliable, energy-efficient performance for critical laboratory environments.
