Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre

Abu Dhabi, UAE

The 18,000 m² General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) complex was developed as a critical aviation infrastructure facility supporting the safe and efficient management of UAE airspace. The development comprises two primary buildings: the Air Traffic Control Centre, which houses the main air traffic operations room together with air navigation services offices, and the Emergency Air Traffic Control Centre, containing a fully operational backup control facility, support services, and air traffic control training and teaching spaces.

The architectural and engineering design was carefully developed to address the unique operational demands of a highly specialized working environment where reliability, precision, and continuous functionality are essential. The facilities incorporate advanced communication, operational, and safety systems designed to ensure uninterrupted air traffic management capabilities under all conditions.

The project also includes three slender radio masts integrated into the overall architectural composition, requiring intensive structural analysis to withstand high wind loads while maintaining operational stability.
