The 18,000 m2 General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) complex is comprised of two main buildings: – The Air Traffic Control Centre building which houses the main air traffic control operations room and air navigation services offices, and the – Emergency Air Traffic Control Centre building which contains the back-up operations room, services and air-traffic control teaching facilities. RMJM designed these buildings to reflect the special demands of this unique working environment where the staff bear the responsibility for the safe and efficient management of the UAE airspace.
