Leith Docks Redevelopment

Edinburgh, UK

RMJM was commissioned in 2004 by Forth Ports to lead the design team for the creation of a development framework which will set the pattern of development in Leith Docks for the next 20 years. Located on potentially one of the most significant brownfield regeneration sites in the UK the framework has the capacity to deliver a mixed, balanced and inclusive waterfront community. The design team established ambitious targets for sustainability, with the ultimate aim of making Leith a world class flagship for sustainable development. As registered BREEAM (Building Research Establishment (BRE) Environmental Assessment Method) assessors RMJM has worked closely with Forth Ports to establish achievable targets and assess the impact these would have on development potential.
