Capital Gate is an iconic landmark tower within the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) development, distinguished by its dramatic steel-and-glass façade and striking organic form that defines the Abu Dhabi skyline. Rising more than 160 meters across 35 levels, the tower includes over 16,000 m² of premium office space together with Abu Dhabi’s first Hyatt hotel, the Hyatt Capital Gate.
The tower features a cantilevered tea lounge and open-air pool deck that create a memorable focal point for the exhibition center. A sculptural stainless steel “splash” element flows down the façade, forming the hotel entrance canopy and extending over the existing grandstand to provide integrated solar shading for both the tower and seating areas. A free-form internal atrium with a dynamic glass roof introduces natural daylight deep into the building.
Structurally, the tower is supported by 490 piles extending approximately 30 meters below ground to resist the complex gravitational, wind, and seismic forces generated by its distinctive lean. In 2010, Capital Gate was recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s furthest leaning man-made tower.
